WINNER OF THE 2016 MANLY WADE WELLMAN AWARD

Straight out of the pages of the legendary vampire novel Dracula comes a demon hunter for the modern world. Mina Murray and Jonathan Harker had a son. They named him Quincy. His guardian angel calls him Q. Dracula calls him nephew.

Demons call him The Reaper.

"There are things in this world that men and women aren’t meant to understand. We aren’t supposed to know these things exist, much less how to fight them. The things that go bump in the night, the monsters in the closet, the shadow out of the corner of your eye — that’s where I live."

This exciting new series from the author of The Black Knight Chronicles and the Bubba the Monster Hunter short stories is a walk through the dark side, where things go bump in the night, and somebody has to bump back. Quincy Harker is that somebody.

Also includes a bonus free chapter to Daughters of Shadow and Blood - Book I Yasamin by J. Matthew Saunders!

Raising Hell A Quincy Harker Demon Hunter Novella eBook John G Hartness

I'm not much of a horror fan, but John Hartness's take on horror is not exactly the usual stuff. Even in this, which is clearly not as light-hearted as his Bubba The Monster Hunter series, he doesn't take his horror all that seriously. Quincy Harker is a demon hunter who knows his stuff. He comes by it naturally, given that Dracula is his uncle. He doesn't seem to be all that sure about the existence of God, but he's on speaking terms with his Guardian Angel.

So, even though there is enough blood, gore and death to suit almost anyone, this is not a 'scary book'. It's a fun, short read, and the beginning of a series That I know I will be reading more of.,

Raising Hell A Quincy Harker Demon Hunter Novella eBook John G Hartness Reviews

Quite a brutal introduction to this author but still and all I liked the book and his characters. Looking forward to reading more for the author.

And I call it excellent. Loved this book!
I am so hung up on the Quincy Harker books! They are funny and action packed. The characters have smart mouths and snarky attitudes. This novella is no exception. I am charging through all these stories as fast as I can with enthusiasm and abandon. If you like the humor/horror/action genre than I suggest you follow.
With a hardboiled sensibility, a fatalistic abandon and a no punch-pulled attitude Hartness's latest character's first outing is a fun romp through what has become my favorite genre. Harker reminds me of early Harry Dresden, but far less conflicted. Showing a hard own and deft hand at foreshadowing, Hartness spins a modern detective drama I could easily see Bogart playing the lead in. Maybe this should be called urban noir fantasy. It is a wonderfully simple revenge tale, where Dracula's nephew avenges a ritually gang raped and demoniclly impregnated 15 year old girl. The double cross ending is worthy of any great mob novel. A great short read and worth every penny of the price.

This series is an awesome quick read. It's totally worth your time and money. John Abraham Quincy Holmwood Harker is one bad ass demon hunter. He is the son of John & Mina Harker but was conceived when Mina was turned by Dracula for that short bit of time. Quincy is immortal due to Dracula's blood and human due to Mina & Jonathan. "Q" has a name for Dracula and that is "uncle". I'm not sure how this amicable relationship ever began, but "Q" claims Dracula is a converted bad guy. Ooookay. I can't say enough good things about this book.

The book was entertaining and I enjoyed the authors other books. I would have probably given it 4 or maybe 5 stars except that It ended suddenly. I do mean suddenly. The story opens, characters are introduced, it heads towards the climax then BAM it's over in 2 pages. It was like the author got half way through the book, got bored or busy and decided to end the book in the next 100 words. I will probably read the next one and hope for better because I do like the author.
This is an excellent novella. You can enjoy old demons, vampires and although a couple hundred years of age some SUPERNATURAL BEINGS that would be considered young..?You will get a look into how they feel about their present LIVES and how they feel about and interact with each other. And interesting take on demons hunters. I RECOMMEND..ENJOY!
